Why he might be annoying:

He was the fifth of seventeen children.
He was going to enter the Church before he changed his mind to go into politics.
He was in the Tower of London for a short time after the collapse of the Whig government left many Whig members like him under suspicion for corruption.
He was accused of bribing members of parliament to gain their support if argument or persuasion failed.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was such a powerful figure in British government that he became the first Prime Minister.
King George I relied heavily on him and his Whig government, as he couldn't speak English well and wasn't very familiar with British politics.
He was given 10 Downing Street, which became the home of all Prime Ministers who followed.
His principle policies were based on bringing economic prosperity to Britain.
He disliked war for its costly nature and was ultimately removed from office for it.
