Why they might be annoying:

They have not kept the same line-up for more than two albums (or four years).
The only member that stayed for the duration of the group was Con O'Brien.
When Broderick disliked the style of their fourth album, he beat up O'Brien and quit the group.
As if that wasn't bad enough, he quit right before a tour.
O'Brien reportedly beat up Broderick too.
They used many studio musicians on their fourth and fifth albums.
Far too many members play the bouzouki.
Their styles are inconsistent, ranging from folk to country rock to Celtic.
They had one hell of a lot of fiddle solos in their live shows.
They recorded a Christmas album ('The Gift') that was hard to find.
All their albums except their compilations and last two originals are out of print.
Despite being a Newfoundland group, they never had a permanent accordion player until 2003.
They released two compilations that shared 2/3 of the material and contained a third that should have been on the other.
Their first album 'Misty Morning Shore' is impossible to find.
With the exception of Kathy Phippard and a very few others, everyone in the group was overweight.

Why they might not be annoying:

Many of their albums went Gold and are still very popular in eastern Canada.
They received multiple Juno and ECMA awards.
Their version of 'Let Me Fish Off Cape St. Mary's' has been called the definitive version.
Other than maybe Great Big Sea, they were the most popular Newfoundland band in the '90s.
They were the official band of Newfoundland's 500th Anniversary celebrations.
They played for the Queen at the celebrations.
