    Some hockey pundits went as far as calling him 'The Swiss McDavid.'
    He bounced around the Swiss league's before opting to play his draft year in Halifax.
    He was extremely hyped up leading into the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
    He said, in regards to playing in New Jersey 'I think I'm going to like going to the Jersey Shore.'
    He was a virtual unknown in hockey circles, prior to his ascension in the rankings as a result of his stint in Halifax.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is the first native of Switzerland to be drafted first overall in the NHL Entry Draft.
    His hometown of Naters didn't have any rinks, so he was forced to practice in the neighboring town of Visp.
    He is considered a solid two way player by hockey pundits.
    He is the first player in the history of the Kansas City/Colorado/New Jersey franchise to be selected with the first overall pick.
    He received a major endorsement from Roger Federer, upon being drafted by the Devils.
    He comes from a family of athletic lineage as his father played soccer, his mother was a competitive swimmer and his siblings played hockey and volleyball.
