Why he might be annoying:

    He became a journeyman player after he left Houston.
    He was hit on the left eye by a fastball thrown by Mike Torrez which cut short his 1984 season.
    He was reduced to 84 game appearances in the 1985 season as he got into some sighting problems.
    Astros GM Al Rosen viewed him as a future Hall of Famer, but his potential was permanently ruined by the eye injury.
    Despite having a long major league career, he never played in a World Series.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a member of the first Angels team that made the ALCS in his first major league season.
    He guided the Astros to two playoff appearances including the 1986 NLCS.
    He was the NL leader for triples with 10 and recorded a career high of 37 stolen bases in the 1982 season.
    His recovery on his left eye resulted him to win the 1991 Tony Conigliaro Award.
    He is devoted to Catholicism.
