Why Damages might be annoying:

It is hard to like anyone; it is an unethical attorney versus an unethical businessman.
There is too much time shifting. We know the results and then see what caused them.
New Yorker's Nancy Franklin pointed out 'The plot is difficult to follow.'
Entertainment Weekly's Gillian Flynn said the show is 'too much to believe.'
Because Glenn Close is a mega star the series is sometimes referred to as 'The Glenn Close TV Project.'

Why Damages might not be annoying:

The show is authentic in that sometimes corruption is needed to protect the little guy.
After a successful first season, two more seasons were ordered.
The New York City scenery is authentic as it is filmed in Brooklyn.
Rose Byrne won the Australian Film Institute award for best international actress for her work on the series.
Glenn Garvin of the Miami Herald wrote 'It's the lack of moral clarity that makes Damages so spellbinding.'
Nancy DeWolf Smith of the Wall Street Journal compares the story to a multi-layered onion.
