    When noted piano teacher Frank Marshall refused to provide her lessons at 3, believing her to be too young, she banged her head on the floor.
    He relented.
    Her tiny stature, just 4'9, gave her hands considered small for a pianist.
    She shrunk to 4'5 in old age.
    She named her daughter 'Alicia.'

Why she might not be annoying:

    She's considered one of the best pianists of her time.
    Her concert debut occurred at age five during the 1929 World's Fair in Seville.
    She championed Spanish composers such as Federico Mompou and Joaquin Turina.
    She performed publicly until age 80.
