He was traded to St. Louis in his rookie season in the deal that sent Erik Johnson to the Avalanche.
Despite being considered a top-tier free agent signing for the Rangers, he failed to play consistently, which led to the team's decision to buy him out after two seasons.
He struggled to stay healthy throughout the course of his career.
He admitted to being 'pretty pissed off' after the Rangers informed him of their plans to buy him out of his contract.
He goes by the nickname 'Shatty.'
