She has always had short hair.
Her hair turned gray in her 30s.
She blew a large lead in the 1989 US Open, which is said to be due to cheating on her female companion and her companion confronting her at the middle of the open, causing distractions.
She didn't admit to being homosexual until 1998, when past her prime (wow, a female athlete that's gay? what a surprise).

She was known for doing cartwheels after a victory.
She was an accomplished junior skier.
She adopted a child. She was one of the '8 Athletes That Care' in a 1987 Sports Illustrated issue.
She carried the torch for the 2002 Winter Olympics.
