TV Series
While several other athletes (most often Super Bowl or Football World Cup champions) were used to indicate ‘the thrill of victory,' skier Vinko Bogataj was the only symbol of ‘the agony of defeat.'
It was meant to be nothing more than filler for a single season.
Blatant product placement constantly followed the opening narration.
Further to this point, a boxing computer game bearing the show's name was created in 1991.
It has been credited, alongside Evel Knievel, with the popularity surge in extreme sports.

The brassy fanfare has become memorable.
It won the Peabody Award in 1967.
It spawned a no-less successful Canadian version, shown on the CTV Television Network with the same theme music (albeit slightly remade).
