Outlaw

The Resume

    (February 6, 1910-March 3, 1993)
    Born in Tunis, Tunisia
    Birth name was Calogero Minacori
Boss of the New Orleans mafia from the late 1940s to early 1980s
Convicted on racketeering and conspiracy charges
Served six years in prison (1983-89)
Conviction overturned by the 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals

Why he might be annoying:

He dropped out of school at age 14.
Despite controlling huge sums of money, he had trouble with basic addition and subtraction.
As a teen, he ran a gang of fellow teens who carried out bank robberies in the towns around New Orleans.
He allegedly had foot-long pockets sewn into his pants to carry his 'traveling money' used to bribe police and government officials.
He allegedly donated $500,000 via Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa to Richard Nixon's election campaign (1960).
A lot of conspiracy theorists believe he was involved in the Kennedy assassination.
He served six months for assault after punching an FBI agent in the face (1970-71).
The House Select Committee on Crime declared, 'We believe Carlos Marcello has become a formidable menace to the institution of government and the people of the United States.' (1972)

Why he might not be annoying:

He was married to Jacqueline Todero for 57 years until his death.
He was twice seized by federal agents and deported to Guatemala (where he had obtained a fake birth certificate) only to reappear in New Orleans a couple of weeks later.
In the 1950s, his crime syndicate was earning over $2 billion a year, making it the largest industry in Louisiana.
He was so powerful in New Orleans that even 'Boss of Bosses' Carlo Gambino had to call and ask permission before visiting.
While in prison, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, at times becoming so disoriented that he thought he was living in a hotel.
