    Quarterback for the Edmonton Eskimos (1954), Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1957-64), Montreal Alouettes (1965-65) and the British Columbia Lions (1967)
    CFL Most Outstanding Player Award winner (1961)
    Jeff Russel Memorial Trophy winner (1965)

    His last name rhymes with a lunch meat.
    He declined the 49ers contract offer after he was not guaranteed the starting quarterback role.
    He spent his final CFL season on a terrible Lions roster.
    He died one day short of his birthday.

    He guided the Maryland football team to the NCAA National Championship (1953).
    He accepted the offer to play in the CFL as it paid more money then the NFL was offering at the time.

    He is the first quarterback in CFL history to win a Grey Cup with teams in both the East and West divisions.
