He goes by the name Gus, despite the fact his actual name is Paul.
His Jaguar teams were notorious for inconsistency on both sides of the ball.
His head coaching tenure in Jacksonville was viewed as being the least successful in modern day NFL history.
His firing drew the ire of many players and pundits alike, as his players were made aware of it over social media.

He was a member of the North Dakota State University football team that won the NCAA Division II National Championship (1988).
He got his break in the NFL working under Monte Kiffin in Tampa Bay.
