He missed a performance at the Hollywood Bowl because he was in jail (1962).

His song, 'Jungle Chase,' featuring the sensual sounds of a man and woman moaning groaning, was described as 'the best sex you never had.'
A 1990s revival in exotica rhythms reignited interest in his work.
He died from a heart attack following an operation to remove a brain tumor.
