Why he might be annoying:

He always played bad guys in the movies.
When he first came to Hollywood, he had a hard time landing parts. He published a pamphlet, 'The Case For Kenneth MacDonald,' and distributed it to the studios in hopes of finding more roles.

Why he might not be annoying:

The pamphlet did land him roles in several westerns.
Although typecast as the villain, he excelled in both comic and dramatic roles.
When he moved to TV, he went against typecast and had a recurring role as a judge on 'Perry Mason.'
He remained married to the same woman (LaMee Nave) for 42 years.
