    Born in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
    Forward for the New York Rangers (1958-61), Toronto Maple Leafs (1961-67, 1973-75), Boston Bruins (1967-70), Los Angeles Kings (1970-71), Buffalo Sabres (1971-72) and the Pittsburgh Penguins (1972-73)

Why he might be annoying:

    He was one of the first players who liked to showboat after scoring a goal.
    He was part of a package deal from the Rangers to the Red Wings that got nixed when one of the players who was part of the traded opted to retire then report to New York (1960).
    He was nicknamed 'The Entertainer' and 'The Nose' during his playing career.
    Despite his popularity, he was primarily used on the bottom six forward lines.
    Many non-hockey fans primarily remember him for his promotional commercials.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a member of all four of the Maple Leafs Stanley Cup championship teams in the 1960's (1962, 1963, 1964, 1967).
    He worked as a butcher prior to pursuing a hockey career.
    He recorded a career high 26 goals and got a tribute song, 'Clear The Track, Here Comes Shack' in his honor.
    He overcame illiteracy in his youth and served as an advocate for various literacy programs as an adult.
    He is a staple at many NHL alumni and old timers hockey games.
