Why he might be annoying:

    He was drafted by the Eagles, despite the fact he made his intentions clear that he planned to play in the CFL.
    He was considered one of the dirtiest CFL players of his era.
    He is remembered for laying out the BC Lions star player Willie Fleming with a vicious late out-of-bounds hit during the 1963 Grey Cup game.
    He capitalized on his dubious distinction by incorporating it into his wrestling persona.
    He had a non-kayfabe rivalry with Pat Patterson during his years in the WWF.
    The feud hit a boiling point when Patterson complained about his rulebreaking wrestling style on-air, going as far as thanking an official for disqualifying him from a match.
    He went as far as attacking Patterson with a water pitcher in retaliation.
    He earned further notoriety after he attacked Joe Kapp with his cane at the 2011 CFL Alumni Luncheon, when Kapp brought up his controversial hit in the 1963 Grey Cup game.

    He was a member of five Grey Cup championship teams (1960, 1963, 1965, 1967, 1972).
    He was the second player in the history of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, after Bernie Faloney to have his number retired by the team.
    He was considered one of the top heel wrestlers during his time in the WWF.
    He was considered one of the top challengers to Bob Backlund, during the latter's reign as WWF Champion.
    He auctioned off the cane used in the altercation with Kapp for charity, with the proceeds of the sale going to the CFL Alumni Association.
    He was considered a Canadian sporting icon at the time of his passing.
