Why Manhunter might be annoying:

It was extremely violent. Every single episode featured multiple murderers.
The criminals being hunted were parodies of real life Depression era criminals such as in the episodes, 'The Ma Gantry Gang' and 'The Man Who Thought He Was Dillinger.'
Many anachronisms appeared on the show such as showing police motorcycles being equipped with two-way radios.
The regular supporting cast (besides Howard) was weak.
It inexplicably flopped and was cancelled after less than one full season.

Why Manhunter might not be annoying:

It provided excellent action.
The cars were really cool!
Ken Howard did an excellent job as a grim, determined man driven into a life he didn't want.
It had some very good guest stars including; Dabney Coleman, Tom Skerritt, Sorrell Brooke, Stephanie Powers and Ida Lupino.
Its guest stars also included a pre-Star Wars Mark Hamill and a pre-Naked Gun/Airplane Leslie Nielsen.
