    Guard for the New York Knickerbockers (1946-1947)
    Inducted into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame (1998)

Why he might be annoying:

    He didn't appear in the first NBA playoffs with the Knickerbockers.
    He left the NBA after playing only one season.
    The historic moment he made in 1946 (the first NBA points) was forgotten prior to Rickey Green scoring the five millionth point in NBA history (1982).

    He grew up in poverty.
    He played for the Long Island University basketball team that went undefeated as they won the National Invitation Tournament and the National Championship (1939).
    He was one of the original Knickerbocker players.
    He was the player who scored the first points in NBA history while he helped the Knickerbockers win the first ever NBA game by defeating the Toronto Huskies 68-66 (November 1, 1946).
