She was hired by Adolf Hitler with an unlimited budget to make Nazi propaganda films.
She was indicted as a Nazi sympathizer and was sentenced to four years in prison.
She was accused of forcibly using Gypsies from concentration camps as extras in her films.
She had a huge ego.
She feuded with Marlene Deitrich.

Why she might not be annoying:

She claimed that she was never a Nazi party member, and never anti-Semitic.
At sixty years old, she lived with and photographed African tribes.
Her work is still considered aesthetically inspiring.
Although known as 'Hitler's Filmmaker,' she only directed two films for the Nazis and only 'Triumph of the Will' was released.
In her nineties she made an underwater film.
She appeared nude in a film called 'Ways to Strength and Beauty'
