Why he might be annoying:

He smoked.
He loved to drink.
He went through a bitter divorce.
He refused to ever remove a huge mole on his cheek.
His pug looks typecast him as neurotic weirdos.
He made two awkward film appearances as a transvestite.
One critic described him as ‘looking like a cherub versed in the works of the Marquis de Sade.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was very kind to his fans.
He was a fairly successful character actor.
He had some of his intestines removed while he was in his 20's.
As a result, he was forced to turn down many roles that would require him to travel a lot.
His quirky mannerisms are compared to those of Peter Lorre.
He made a brief cameo in ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.'
