Why he might be annoying:

    He earned a place on the British track and field team for the 1920 Antwerp Summer Olympics, but he was eliminated in the quarterfinals of both the 100 meters and 200 meters race.
    He was engaged to academic Christina McLeod Innes, but their relationship ended due to Abraham's Olympic commitments.
    In fact, he had a fear of commitment and old-fashioned ideas about the role of women in marriage.
    His track and field career ended in 1925, after injuring himself while practicing long jumping.

    He served as a lieutenant in the British Army.
    En route to his gold-medal winning performance at the 1924 Paris Summer Olympics, he beat several favored Americans.
    He endured anti-Semitism while competing at the Olympics.
