Murderer

The Resume

    (December 9, 1956-February 25, 1994)
Zionist responsible for the Tomb of the Patriarchs massacre in Hebron, Palestine

Why he might be annoying:

On the Jewish holiday of Purim he murdered 29 Muslim pilgrims, spraying the holy site and its worshipers with machine gun fire (February 25, 1994).
Dozens more were wounded in the attack on the mosque.
Shortly after the slaughter rioting led to the deaths of another 26 Palestinians and 2 Israelis.
During an Israeli inquiry it was brought up but never proven he had an accomplice. Conspiracy theories abound.
Though the Israeli government immediately condemned his actions he became an instant martyr to militant Jews and Kahanist sympathizers.
He is buried near the site of the killings. Every anniversary brings some right-winged Jewish celebrants to grave for singing, dancing, prayer services and other inappropriate behavior.
Some celebrants come dressed up to resemble him, wearing army uniforms, doctor's coats and fake beards.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a physician for the Israeli Defense Force. After his tour of duty, in his capacity as a doctor, he saved many people's lives following terror attacks in the Hebron region.
In his heart he felt an attack on Israeli settlers was forthcoming. Arab residents of Hebron were notified via leaflets, loudspeakers and inscriptions on walls to stock up with food, anticipating a long curfew that would follow an organized attack against the Jews by Hamas.
After he was subdued with a fire extinguisher and had his assault weapon taken from him, Muslim worshipers beat him to a pulp with metal poles, stomped him and lynched him.
A pathologist's report indicated he had a smashed in skull, damage to the brain, broken ribs and a broken left arm. During an inquest his widow stated his face was so mutilated that even his brother had difficulty in identifying him.
Nobody has ever been brought to trial for his murder.
As an American born Jew his strong religious beliefs brought him to Israel.
The Israeli Knesset passed a bill forbidding the erection of monuments to terrorists. Because of this a small shrine built around his tomb was torn down (2000).
