Why Court TV might be annoying:

It was another media outlet owned by Ted Turner.
Nancy Grace once was a contributor to its programs.
During their heyday, they capitalized on high profile trials such as Lyle and Erik Menendez and O.J. Simpson.
The network changed its name to truTV in 2008 to focus more on 'caught on video' reality programs.

Why Court TV might not be annoying:

It gave lawyers and judges something to watch in the morning.
In addition to airing live broadcasts of homicide trials, they often aired documentaries regarding crime and punishment.
CNN legal analysts often often served as contributors to the network.
They showed reruns of the hit police/legal drama 'Homicide' (which aired originally on the network's former sister station NBC).
