Emergency backup goaltender for the Vancouver Canucks (December 9, 2003)
Why he might be annoying
He was the third string goalie for the UBC men's hockey team at the time he was called up to the Canucks.
He initially thought the phone call from the Canucks was a prank call from his buddies.
His career ended prematurely due to concussions.
He refuses to watch the tape of his time with the Canucks out of fear it would get eaten by his VCR.
Canucks general manager Brian Burke admitted he panicked at the thought of him playing in the game, after Johan Hedberg briefly went down.
Why he might not be annoying
He was the first notable emergency goaltender in NHL history.
He was studying for a geography exam at the time he got the call from the Canucks.
He nearly got to play in the game, had Hedberg not have stood up on his own power.
Despite being called up for the Canucks game the night before, he passed his geography exam.
Despite not playing, he still takes part in various Canucks alumni functions and takes pride in his status in franchise history.
