Why Are You Being Served? might be annoying:

    The jokes were extremely risqué and low brow.
    Mrs. Slocombe made repeated references to her ‘pussy' (cat).
    The clothes sold at Grace Brothers looked like gaudy crap.
    They rarely referred to each other by their first names.
    They would sometimes break into song and dance.
    Gay groups were upset at Inman's flaming portrayal of Mr. Humphries.
    During the 1990s, PBS featured the show during its pledge drives.

Why Are You Being Served? might not be annoying:

    They lampooned the British class system.
    No one ever made fun of Mrs. Slocombe's weird bluish hair.
    Mr. Humphries did a thorough job of measuring the inside of guys' pants legs.
    The sales clerks usually got the last laugh over the management.
    The raunchy jokes had the unintended benefit of teaching eager adolescents about sex.
    Mrs. Slocombe was a TV trailblazer for pushy, sex-charged matrons.
