The Resume

    (January 26, 1908-July 28, 1990)
    Born in London, United Kingdom
    Birth name was Jill Esmond-Moore
Appeared on Broadway in 'Bird in Hand' (1929), 'Private Lives' (1931) and 'The Green Bay Tree' (1933)
Appeared in the films 'The Skin Game' (1931), 'Ladies of the Jury' (1932), 'Thirteen Women' (1932), 'Random Harvest' (1942), 'The White Cliffs of Dover' (1944), 'The Bandit of Sherwood Forest' (1946), 'Night People' (1954) and 'A Man Called Peter' (1955)
First wife of Laurence Olivier (1930-40)

Why she might be annoying:

She is better remembered for her marriage to Olivier than her acting.
She got her first stage roles through the influence of her parents, who were prominent West End actors.
She turned down the lead in 'A Bill of Divorcement' that turned Katharine Hepburn into a star.

Why she might not be annoying:

She projected an air of sophistication and elegance.
When she and Olivier signed Hollywood contracts with RKO Pictures, she was considered the hotter property.
She sacrificed her career to promote Olivier's only to be discarded for Vivien Leigh.
When Oliver left Leigh for Joan Plowright, she did not comment, 'What goes around comes around.' (Not publicly, at least.)
