The Resume

Why they might be annoying:

It was the third straight season to be shot in the Philippines (producers are REALLY getting lazy).
They had two Lauras in the same game.
    They brought back Redemption Island.
At the start, Laura B. and Candice were immediately selected by their respective tribemates to go to Redemption, based on first impressions alone.
But Rupert pulled a Katniss Everdeen, by taking his wife Laura’s place at Redemption Island (Dr. and Dr. Cody, though, did not switch places).
In fact, every time someone was sent to Redemption, that player’s loved one had the option of switching places with them (as long as the loved one was still in the main game).
Laura B. ended up switching tribes as a result of Rupert taking her place, making her the only newbie on Galang among eight returnees.
They had to put up with Brad being such a jerk.
Colton, after falling ill his first time out, came back, only to quit in the third episode.
Ciera voted out her own mother!
None of the newcomers were in the Final Four.

Why they might not be annoying:

For the first time ever, castaways got to compete alongside, and against, their own family members.
It gave ten past players—and by extension, their loved ones—another shot at a million dollars.
Rupert was the only player to take his loved one’s place on Redemption Island.
Laura B. and Katie were no strangers to 'Survivor'; they each had showed up for a loved one's challenge in a previous season.
Sadly, Katie and Tina lost a family member in a car crash while this season aired.
R.C. from Survivor: Philippines was supposed to participate with her father, but he fell ill prior to filming. As a result, Candice from Survivor: Cook Islands, and her husband, got on as alternates.
Hayden was the first ever Big Brother-Survivor crossover.
The One World season, after not being represented in Fans vs. Favorites II, got three of its players in this time; no other (non-All Star) season sent more than one.
After a deadlocked Tribal Council, Katie was sent to Redemption Island by the first rock lottery held since Survivor: Marquesas; only this time, producers didn’t screw up the process, and the deadlock was solved according to the rules.
Tyson, despite getting injured early on, bounced back to win Sole Survivor. (You hear that, Russell Hantz? The guy that you tricked in Heroes vs. Villains has since become a fierce competitor that you couldn’t possibly beat today!)
