Why she might be annoying:

    Her trademark was her blonde hair, which was a wig.
    She was the youngest of five children.
    She was twice divorced.
    She made only ten pictures while under contract to Fox.
    Her second ex-Husband, Wallace McCutcheon, committed suicide by shooting himself (January 27, 1928). It is said that he murdered himself because of the divorce.
    Later in her career, she was forced to use a stand in to do her stunts.
    One of her stunt men, John Stevenson, was killed while attempting one of Pearl's stunts.
    News immediately spread that Pearl had been killed instead of Stevenson.
    After this rumor had been denounced, Pearl's career took a nose dive after fans discovered she didn't do her own stunts.
    She suffered a nervous breakdown.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She was one of the most popular serial heroines of her time.
    Because her fake blonde hair was her trademark, she was capable of using her naturally dark hair as a disguise when she chose to appear unnoticed in public.
    She was an accomplished singer before her voice went hoarse and she went into the movies.
    It is said that she had never been to Hollywood and never made a single film in there.
    Her mother died when she was just three years old.
    We all know the famous scene in which Pearl White is struggling desperately while tied to the railroad tracks as a train approaches in 'Perils of Pauline (1914).'
    When she was offered a publicized return by various studios, she is said to have replied: 'Do I look crazy?'
    She died of a liver ailment.
