Hockey Player

The Resume

    (November 23, 1992- )
    Born in Stockholm, Sweden
Drafted second overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2011 NHL Draft
    Forward for the Colorado Avalanche
    Calder Memorial Trophy Winner (2012)

Why he might be annoying:

He is the prototypical pretty boy.
Some pundits felt the Avalanche rushed him to the NHL prematurely.
He sported a mohawk during his stint with Kitchener of the Ontario Hockey League.
His surname is hard to spell.
He is easily mistaken for being North American, as his name doesn't have the Scandinavian pronunciations.

Why he might not be annoying:

He moved to Canada by himself at age 16 in order to further his hockey prospects in the Ontario Hockey League.
He is the first European born captain in the history of the Kitchener Rangers franchise.
During his tenure in Kitchener, he roomed with Jeff Skinner, who ironically preceded him as the previous year's Calder Trophy recipient.
He was the first member of the Quebec/Colorado franchise since Chris Drury to win the Calder Trophy.
Following his rookie season, he was appointed the Avalanche's team captain which in turn made him the youngest player in NHL history to be appointed.
