He wasn't the first Ace Bailey.
He frequently bounced around between the NHL and the minors.
He spent the final seasons of his career on horrendous teams.
His track record as a scout for the Oilers produced no noteworthy players.
His trademark during his playing career was wearing a turtleneck under his jersey.

He was a member of seven Stanley Cup winning teams (2 as a player, 5 as an executive).
Many former teammates considered him to be one of the funniest people in the locker room.
He was involved in various charitable causes during the course of his career.
He was on his way to Los Angeles to do training camp preparations when he boarded Flight 175 that crashed into the World Trade Center.
Following his death, the Kings wore a special patch on their jersey in honor of him and fellow colleague Mark Bavis, who was also killed in the 9/11 attacks.
The Kings named their mascot 'Ace' in his honor.
His widow and close friends started a foundation in his honor that provides for families of children with life threating illnesses.
