Murderer

The Resume

    (January 8, 1947-February 23, 1996)
Known as the Freeway Killer in California
Kidnapped, robbed, raped, tortured, and killed 21 teenaged boys between 1979-80
First person in California to be put to death by lethal injection

Why he might be annoying:

He was a brain damaged manic-depressive.
He was examined by several neurologists, psychiatrists and psychologists, none of whom could pinpoint precursors of potential homicidal acts.
After two counts of sodomy with a child, being diagnosed as a sexual predator and demonstrating criminal sexual conduct, he was sent to prison, but he was released in 1978 due to a clerical error which turned out to be fatal for his teenaged victims.
He once told a friend (who eventually collected a reward for a tip leading to his capture) that he would never again make the mistake of leaving a witness alive to testify against him.
He was convicted of 12 murders - and the prime suspect in nine others (January 6, 1982).
He continued to receive Social Security (mental) disability checks for 14 years at his last known address (his mother's house) after he was convicted of the murders.
The grand total was $79,424. Once the mistake was discovered his family agreed to repay the government.
He told the mother of one of his victims that her son had been his favorite because 'he was such a screamer.'
His last meal consisted of two pepperoni and sausage pizzas, three servings of coffee ice cream, and fifteen cans of Coca-Cola.
He spent his final hours of life watching 'Jeopardy' on TV.
No family members either watched his execution or claimed his body. He was cremated and his ashes spread over the Pacific Ocean, which was more dignified then the dumpsters many of his victims ended up occupying.
He spent more time on Death Row (14 years) then some of his victims spent living their lives.

Why he might not be annoying:

His alcoholic father once gambled the family house away.
His bingo addicted mother sent him to live with his grandfather, a well-known pedophile who sexually abused her.
He grew up poorly clothed, often dirty and hungry as his mother got around to feeding him occasionally between bingo games.
He was sent to a reformatory when he was eight, and became the older offender's 'bitch,' learning the ways of sexual depravity.
He joined the U.S. Air Force and logged 700 hours in combat or patrol, serving as an aerial gunner in Vietnam, and winning a good conduct medal.
One of his accomplices, a drifter named Vernon Butts, did a humanitarian service by hanging himself in his jail cell.
Since he was the first in the state to be executed by lethal injection, things didn't go smoothly, and his death was delayed for 8 minutes while technicians struggled to find a good vein for the IV.
