Why Vega$ might be annoying:

The ‘S’ was replaced by the standard dollar symbol, which just happened to be an uppercase ‘$’ with a slash down the middle.
The red 1957 Thunderbird was lauded as the real star of the series; however, production regarded it as little more than window dressing.
Visual representations of the show’s title in italics roared across the screen during the opening credits.
Urich said it took him five tries to finally have a hit series (this one, although ‘S.W.A.T’ was no turkey).
He also said he had to wear a leather jacket and a wool vest in 115-degree (46 C) heat (Ah, such is the price of success).
Not only that, he complained the car received more fan mail than he did!
There is almost nothing left to indicate that the series ever took place.

Why Vega$ might not be annoying:

In some respects, it was as if Hawaii Five-O had relocated to Nevada.
It was shot in Las Vegas.
As such, it represented the seedier and less glamorous sides of the city as well as the daytime.
Although it came out well after that era had begun (and lasted beyond its end), it was one of the many success stories in the Escapist Fantasy Age on ABC.
The T-bird was almost always shown with the top down.
It featured a high-energy theme track and awesome opening visuals.
The closing credits showed the T-bird along one of the strips at night.
Both versions of the Thunderbird used in the show were saved from destruction.
Many Vegas residents credit the show (and its title character) with improving the city’s public image.
Urich is said to be the only cast member common to all 60-plus episodes.
