Why he might be annoying:

He tried to shave four years off his age, claiming 1932 as a birth year.
Jokes about his (fictional) homosexuality were a running gag on the BBC radio series 'I'm Sorry, I Haven't a Clue.'
He and fellow British show biz veteran Bruce Forsyth stopped speaking to each other for six years after he was a no-show at Forsyth's 80th birthday celebration. (Blair's explanation was that the organizers contacted him only two days before the party and he told them he could not make it as he was scheduled to appear at a charity event.)

Why he might not be annoying:

During World War II, he and his sister Joyce would entertain people seeking refuge in London Underground stations from bombing raids.
He held a 'dance off' against Sammy Davis, Jr., at the Royal Variety Command Performance (1961).
He and comedian Alan Carr helped rescue a man who was clinging to a Blackpool pier by his fingertips (September 21, 2006).
He successfully battled prostate cancer (2008).
He and his wife Susan were married for over 50 years.
