The Resume

    (May 9, 1944- )
    Born in Yellow Springs, Ohio
Birth name was Paul Richard Furay
    Guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter
Member of Buffalo Springfield (1966-68), Poco (1968-73), and the Souther Hillman Furay Band (1973-76)
Recorded the solo albums 'I've Got a Reason' (1976), 'I Still Have Dreams' (1979), 'Seasons of Change' (1982), 'In My Father's House' (1997), 'The Heartbeat of Love' (2006), and 'Hand in Hand' (2015)
Senior pastor of Cavalry Chapel in Broomfield, Colorado (1983-2017)

Why he might be annoying:

He recorded his signature song, 'Kind Lady,' with Buffalo Springfield. And re-recorded it with Poco. And re-re-recorded it for a solo album. (But somehow missed the opportunity to re-re-re-record it with the Souther Hillman Furay Band.)
As a solo artist, he had one song barely scrape into the Billboard Top 40. ('I Still Have Dreams' peaked at #39.)
He admitted to being frustrated at not achieving the same level of success as some of his Buffalo Springfield and Poco bandmates: 'I've watched many of my friends go on to musical greatness.... I said, 'What about me? I'm just as talented as they are.''
His planned farewell to touring and 76th birthday concert had to be postponed because of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Why he might not be annoying:

He has been married to his wife Nancy, the inspiration for his song 'Kind Lady,' for over fifty years.
Reflecting his importance in country rock, Glen Frey spotted him in the audience at an Eagles concert and said, 'If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't be here.'
He reunited with Buffalo Springfield bandmates Neil Young and Stephen Stills for a Bridge School Benefit concert (October 23, 2010).
He said, 'Over the years, I crossed paths and worked with a lot of the most talented people in the music business. What a wonderful life, and to each one of them, I say thanks for being a part of it.'
