Why she might be annoying:

She did not know how to sew, so she made circle skirts, which could be cut directly from felt.
When she decided to launch a company to sell her designs, it almost collapsed immediately due to her poor financial skills.
Her mother pawned jewelry three consecutive weeks to help Charlot make payroll until she hired a secretary with decent math skills to handle the finances.
She was married and divorced four times (although she said the first one didn't count, since it only lasted three days).

Why she might not be annoying:

She sang with the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera Company.
She served as straight woman to the Marx Brothers when they toured military bases during World War II.
She produced variants on the traditional Mexican wedding dress until her factory collapsed in the 1985 Mexico City earthquake.
Her poodle skirts became an icon of 1950s teen fashion.
