Why he might be annoying
He is a pretty boy.
His surname is hard to pronounce.
He struggled to stay healthy during his first couple seasons in the NHL.
He was originally projected to be a top 10 pick, but slid to the lower rung of the first round.
Despite being the consensus front runner for the Calder Trophy, he suffered a season ending injury, which cost him a chance at winning the award (2018).
Why he might not be annoying
He was a member of the University of North Dakota team that won the NCAA championship (2016).
While at UND, he unselfishly served as a prom date for a girl with special needs for her high school graduation.
He was the first Canuck rookie since Trevor Linden to record a hat trick.
He was the first rookie in 33 years to earn NHL All-Star Game MVP honors (2018).
He is considered one of the cornerstones of the Canucks in the post-Sedin twins era.
