Why he might be annoying
He demanded a trade from the Senators after they failed to meet his contract demands.
He changed his number with the Hurricanes four times during his stint with the team.
He was caught in a scandal, after he allegedly slept with Steve Ott's wife, whom he later married.
When word of the affair became public, his friendship with Ott became strained, as the two were best friends during their stint with Windsor.
He frequently takes dives in order to take the puck.
Why he might not be annoying
He was a member of the United States Olympic team that earned a silver medal (2010).
He scored the game tying goal, minutes after taking a puck to the face and having to get stitches, which helped the Hurricanes clinch a playoff spot (2009).
His hard nosed style of play made him a fan favorite among Hurricanes fans.
He isn't afraid to sacrifice his body in order to make a big play for his team.
