He fathered two children out of wedlock.
He led the Cubs in errors during his first full season with the team (2011).
His poor defensive skills prompted Joe Maddon to relegate him to the bench in favor of Addison Russell.
He was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, which led to him being placed on administrative leave and later suspended by the Nationals.
He was released by the Nationals after his 30 game suspension in wake of the charges against him (September 2, 2021).

He hit a home run in his first major league at-bat.
He was the youngest player in major league history to lead the league in hits.
He was the youngest player in the history of the Cubs franchise to record 200 career hits, which he accomplished in just his second season.

He was part of the return the Marlins got from the Yankees in the Giancarlo Stanton trade.
