Why he might be annoying:

In their first year of production, they manufactured 650 harmonicas. Today, they can produce that many in under an hour.
The harmonica is a mainstay of many prisoner movies.
Some people find the sounds produced by the harmonica irritating.

Why he might not be annoying:

He founded a successful business, Hohner Harmonicas, when he was only twenty-four (1857).
He turned over his business to his sons in 1900, but continued working there until his death (1902).
He produced an inexpensive, portable musical instrument.
At the time of his death he employed over 1,000 people and produced 5,000,000 harmonicas annually.
He is indirectly responsible for much of the music that soldiers produced during he Civil War.
