    Head coach of the men's basketball programs at Stony Brook University (1969–71), Villanova University (1973–92), University of Nevada, Las Vegas (1992–94), Cleveland State University (1996–2003), and at Northwood University-Florida/Keiser University (2006–17)
    Career head coaching record in the NCAA was 816–462
    College Basketball Hall of Fame inductee (2013)

Why he might be annoying:

    He was a nomad in the coaching ranks.
    He turned down the New Jersey Nets head coaching position at the 11th hour (1985).
    He failed to replicate the same degree of success following Villanova's championship season for the rest of his coaching career.
    His tenure at UNLV was plagued by controversy, after it was revealed he accepted a side deal that would have paid him more then what was reported to the state.
    He was let go from Cleveland State after he failed to keep his players under control during his seven years as the helm, as many of them had been cited for addiction issues, felonies off-campus and academic fraud.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a successful coach in the high school ranks, before moving to college.
    He served on Chuck Daly's coaching staff at Pennsylvania University for one season (1972-73).
    He guided Villanova to an upset victory over the heavily favored Georgetown team in the NCAA National Championship game (1985).
    He left the Northwood/Keiser men's basketball team as the all-time leader in wins and winning percentage.
    He defied the odds and coached during his cancer treatments (2016-17).
