Why he might be annoying:

His ring name was taken from a comic book character.
He acts like a vampire.
He drank a blood-colored fluid from a goblet before every match, claiming it gave him supernatural powers.
He didn't win a single title in all of his time in the WWF.
His stable, the Brood (with Edge and Christian), didn't get over with the fans right away.
He was part of the Ministry of Darkness and helped the Undertaker in his goal to capture Stephanie McMahon.
He tried to reform the Brood (with Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy), but was unsuccessful.
He originally wanted to wear leather instead of the white shirt for his character in the WWF, but Vince McMahon disagreed with the idea.

Why he might not be annoying:

His football career ended after a serious neck injury.
He was trained by a wrestling legend, the late Boris Malenko.
His WWF intro (entrance music and special effects) is considered to be one of the best, as he would walk out of a fire.
He is married to former WWF valet, Luna Vachon.
Many fans feel he was used incorrectly in the WWF.
