Why Highlander: The Series might be annoying:

Casual fans refer to Immortals as 'Highlanders.' Highlanders are actually people native to the Scottish Highlands, thus blurring fantasy with history.
The show was violent, featuring a beheading nearly every episode.
It opened the market for cheaply made sword replicas.
People were injured trying to imitate the sword fights.
'There can be only one' got old fast.
Duncan MacLeod was a whoremonger and drank a lot.
While Tessa was alive, all she did was cry and worry about Duncan.
Tessa got kidnapped or threatened in nearly every episode.
Popular characters that were killed showed up again in flashbacks.
Its writers had a habit of recycling storylines.
It has conventions called 'Gatherings,' similar to 'Star Trek.'
A man obsessed with the show dressed up like an Immortal and killed two people in a California grocery store with a katana (June 2003).

Why Highlander: The Series might not be annoying:

    All Immortals are orphans.
The first two seasons had some interesting guest stars such as Roger Daltry, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Nia Peeples, Traci Lords and many more.
Jim Byrnes was given a role despite not having legs.
Some storylines tackled topics such as racism.
It tried to balance deep emotion with action.
Nia Peeples' bare buttocks were shown in the European version.
The series attempted to answer many questions which the movies did not.
The series is considered by many to be superior to the line of movies.
Series creators have made official sword replicas available to the fans (at a pretty penny).
Regular characters got killed fairly often helping to add suspense.
The official website contains a detailed episode by episode description.
    Facts about Immortals:
Immortals can only be permanently killed by beheading.
They can sense the presence of another Immortal.
The victor receives the loser's 'Quickening,' a discharge of energy.
The last Immortal left alive will be given godlike power called 'The Prize.'
After their first death, they stop aging.
    They cannot have children.
They cannot kill on any holy ground.
