Why he might be annoying:

    He has bad teeth.
    He hosted an episode of 'The Muppet Show' as a last-minute replacement when Richard Pryor cancelled.
    His first marriage broke up over his drinking and drug use.
    He was arrested for having child pornography on his computer (November 29, 2005).
    His defense in court was that he was researching a 'peeping tom' character for a TV comedy.
    His co-writer Paul Whitehouse confirmed that the 'peeping tom 'character existed, but said he had no idea the character was meant to be a pedophile.
    He was convicted and served six months in prison.
    After his release, he complained 'Everybody wants to see me working again -- and nobody wants to hire me.'

    He was sexually abused by a stranger when he was a child.
    He won a writing Emmy for 'The Muppet Show.' (1981)
    He used his experiences in therapy to write and portray a psychiatrist in the series 'Help.'
    He won the BAFTA for Best TV Comedy Performance for 'The Thick of It' (2006).
    Several expert witnesses testified at his trial that he was not a pedophile.
