He joined the US Marines at the age of 17 and served for 6 years until honorably discharged in 1965.
He attended UCLA from 1970-74 where he pursued a Ph.D. in Meta-Physics.
He is an accomplished athlete, having competed in Olympic/International championships in ice hockey, track and yacht racing.
He is a licensed NASCAR driver.
He holds black belts in judo and aikido and used to compete regularly in such tournaments.
He frequently works with co-exploitation film star Fred Williamson.
He is a childhood idol of Quentin Tarantino.
