Why he might be annoying:

He shares his name with the actor.
Although his show 'The Goldbergs' is based on his family, he buckled under network pressure to change one of his real life brothers into his sister, and characterized his other brother as being an idiot in order to write more storylines for his show.
He originally was going to call his show 'How The Fuck Did I End Up Normal?'
Some of his concepts for his shows were deemed too unrealistic for television.

Why he might not be annoying:

In order to make his show true to life, he made sure the set resembled the same style of decor as his childhood home.
He wrote over 50 plays before the age of 19.
He got his start in sitcom writing by working with Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions.
In contrast to the show's characters, his brothers are educated and both work in the field of medicine.
