Drafted first overall by the Chicago White Sox in the 1971 Major League Baseball Draft and by the California Angels in the 1975 Major League Baseball Draft
Played for the California Angels (1975, 1977-78), Minnesota Twins (1979-81), Oakland Athletics (1982) and the Nankai Hawks (1986)

Why he might be annoying:

He is the only player in professional sports to be drafted with the first overall pick twice.
He was initially drafted by the White Sox, but opted not to accept the team's offer.
He was solely used as a designated hitter or in pinch hitting situations with the Angels.
He was converted to the first base position after the Twins felt his catching abilities were lackluster.
He failed to live up to his draft billing, especially since he was drafted first overall twice.

He earned College Player of the Year honors (1975).
He was able to secure a full-time fielding position upon being traded to the Twins.
He was the first African-American to be selected with the first overall pick (1971).
