    They became interested in the team when it began to regain playoff contender status.
    They started one of the worst player-fan brawls with 'Malice at the Palace' (2004).
    One of their fans, John Green poured a cup of beer on Pacer Ron Artest, which provoked Artest to go into the stands.
    Green and fellow Piston fans A.J. Shackleford and Charlie Haddad were all banned from future Pistons games as a result.
    They tended to avoid the team during the mid 1990's and early 2000's.

    They have many Detroit area celebrities attend home games.
    They watched Dennis Rodman play for their team before he turned into an eccentricity.
    They watched their team win their first three NBA championships on home court.
    They are considered the NBA's loudest fans.
