    Her nickname was Moumoune, which it is a French translation for 'wuss.'
    She finished at 16th place at the Women's Boardercross event in her final Olympics appearance (2006)
    She died too young.

    She was the first ever female snowboarder to win an Olympic gold medal.

    She was the only female snowboarder to win an Olympic gold medal in the Giant Slalom event.
    The New York Times referred her as 'the most decorated female snowboarder in the world' due to her numerous snowboarding accomplishments.
    She is considered an icon of women's snowboarding.
