Based on the story of the ugly duckling (where the ugly duckling turns into a beautiful swan)
Synopsis: Women with with low self esteem about their looks willing to undergo a plastic surgery make over, ultimately to be put in a beauty pageant

Why Swan might be annoying:

They takes advantage of women with low self esteem.
The show exploits women's looks.
Its entire premise is superficial.
Participants were not allowed to look in a mirror for three months.
One participant, Kelly, needed to be confined to a wheelchair for a week after her surgery.
Jenny Craig was part of the product placement.

Why Swan might not be annoying:

Nearly a quarter of a million women applied to be on the show.
The women maintain the right to refuse any procedure.
Some women had as much as $250,000 worth of plastic surgery.
Each woman was require to meet with a psychologist twice a week.
