Why he might be annoying:

As commander He was too cautious and may have severely damaged the German fleet at Jutland had he been more aggressive.
Instead, his forces took higher casualties in ships and men than the German forces; however, he won the strategic victory.
He opposed the convoy system, which concentrated merchant ships so that escorts could better protect them.
He joined the navy when he was thirteen.

Why he might not be annoying:

His leadership of the Royal Navy during World War I severely hampered the operations of German surface forces.
He helped devise submarine countermeasures.
Before World War I, he encouraged the Royal Navy to develop its dreadnoughts, torpedo boats and submarines.
He was unwilling to put his forces at excessive risk.
